From December 20, 2016 to October 16, 2017 Phil took on the role of managing a full build at 4604 Fordham Road in Kelowna, BC. His duties were to oversee the project start to finish, and report to me regarding scheduling, budget and execution. On this project, Phil Allen Contracting was responsible for the foundation and framing of the house, on top of the duties of managing trades and subcontractors such as electrical, plumbing, heating, interior finishers and exterior finishers, etc. Phil also assembled and installed the kitchen cabinetry at this location.
Over the course of working with Phil it is clear he has a strong ability to execute multiple tasks on a jobsite from framing to finishing, and to efficiently organize the subcontracts and trades, resulting in a successfully completed build. Phil also created and maintained a strong positive working relationship with the client, which is necessary for success in this industry.

I have worked with Phil on many different occasions in Kelowna. He has done a few framing and foundation projects for me, some painting and finishing work, cabinetry installation and also an accessibility retrofit for a bathroom. I would say Phil is the kind of individual who has experience in many different areas that apply to residential building. He is also a hard worker who gets the job done right.
In August of 2015, I began a project on Hobson Road in Kelowna, an area that features many higher-end homes. Phil and his crew executed the foundation and framing of the house, and installed the doors and windows as per usual framing contract. The job wrapped up in August of 2016. Phil Allen Contracting also had the contract for painting the interior of the house and helped in the assembly and installation of kitchen cabinetry. The clients for this particular house were very meticulous and detail-oriented, and Phil always did his best to make sure that they were happy through all stages of his work at the site, at times going beyond the scope of a standard subcontractor to please the client, or to ensure that their needs were being met.
In my experience working with Phil, he has demonstrated strong knowledge throughout the entire residential building process, and a good ability to keep a jobsite organized and running efficiently.

Phil Allen Contracting did a full, owner build house and also a 1600 square foot house addition for me. The addition was very complicated, matching a 25 year old structure with a new build, today you can't tell where the new and old meet.

In April 2017 we hired Phil to manage an upgrade/renovation in our basement at 801 Wilson Ave. in Kelowna. The wide scope of the job allowed us to see that Phil had substantial knowledge in various areas of the construction/renovation process. The job included removing and reframing walls, moving electrical and plumbing fixtures, drywalling, mudding/taping, painting, tiling, flooring, installing cabinetry, replacing and upgrading the sump as well as replacing an old window.
Throughout the course of the job, Phil kept in close contact with us to ensure that our needs were being met, and made sure to include us in the decision making process for the duration of the project. Applying a facelift to an older basement, as we learned, comes with its share of hang-ups and problem solving, but Phil organized all trades efficiently and completed the job successfully without any major delays. Overall, we were very happy with the final product, and would hire Phil Allen Contracting again in the future should any projects arise.

I have known and worked with Phil off and on since 2005 on various projects in the Okanagan. From foundations to framing, mutlifamily 4-plex and 6-plexes, the jobsites vary from small in scale, to large sites with daily safety meetings and safety requirements, and heavy equipment such as lifts, booms and cranes.
I also worked with Phil on a job at 559 Barnaby Road (May 1, 2013- August 20, 2013) where we lifted an existing heritage farmhouse off of its old foundation, poured a new foundation, set the house back down, built an addition and facelifted the old structure. This was a site that thoroughly demonstrated Phil's abilities and problem-solving skills, and the client and I were very happy with the results that Phil produced.

Phil took on our project in October of 2015 and finished it in March of 2016 which consisted of a complete build of our retail shoe store. He was in charge of the entire project and looking after everything from start to finish.

Phil is the guy I call when I need help with anything involving home improvement or construction. He and I have worked on many projects together. In April 2016, I hired him to build a carriage house on my property under an owner/builder license (762 Cawston Ave, Kelowna). The job began April 13 and ended August 4, 2016.
Phil's knowledge and skills in building and renovations has always impressed me, and has been a great resource for me in building my carriage house and renovating the existing house on the property. He was crucial from beginning to end in this project. In the beginning, Phil was responsible for acquiring the drawings, engineering, permits, lining up the excavation and surveying etc. He organized all the trades and subcontractors, organized the inspections and inspection prep, and oversaw the installation of in-floor heating, which I really enjoy having. Also, I recall having to tie the carriage house into the exisitng structure as far as sewer, water, and gas goes, and Phil was able to manage this no problem. After the project was completed, he installed a new fence around the property, and some basic aesthetic improvements to the landscape. If I ever do it again, it will be Phil that I call for the job.

We recently completed an extensive renovation of our family home in Lakeview Heights.
Phil, Mike and crew were sub-contracted to undertake and complete a number of construction tasks.
Jobs included removing walls, flooring, bathroom and kitchen fixtures and cabinets and prepare home for new layout and design of our main living area.
P.A.C. also completed all excavation and prep of lower level for new large deck, which included extensive footings, installation posts and beams as well as new roof over new upper deck. They also excavated and prepared (leveled) perimeter for new concrete block walls for gardens and landscaping.
Other interior work included beautiful “live-edge” wood finishing, and other various jobs.
Phil and crew always communicated with us and were punctual, quick, and worked efficiently within General Contractor’s schedule.
I would rate them a 10 out of 10.
